  • Arrive in Shanghai
  • Arrive in Shanghai, the biggest city of China. Our tour guide meets you at the airport and then drive to hotel.

  • Shanghai (B/A la carte lunch/D)
  • The morning tour starts at Shanghai Museum, which is located at Renmin Square, the center of Shanghai. The 120,000 art collections show you the traditional culture. Then proceed to visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, where you will see the future of Shanghai. You will enjoy the a la carte lunch at a fancy and famous local restaurant. Enjoy the a la carte lunch in a featured local restaurant. Then continue to visit Yu Garden, a 400-year-old classical Chinese garden in the Old Town of Shanghai. After dinner, appreciate the famous Acrobatic Show.

  • Shanghai- Wuzhen Water Town- Hangzhou(B/L)
  • After breakfast at hotel, you will drive for 1.5 hours to Wuzhen Water Town. It is said that people have lived in Wuzhen for 7000 years and over time it has produced a galaxy of talents. Mao Dun, an outstanding modern Chinese writer, was born here and his masterpiece, 'The Lin's Shop', describes vividly the life of Wuzhen. The Southern China Hundred Beds Museum, Flower-Printed Blue Cloth Workshop, Southern China Woodcarving Exhibition Hall, Pawns Museum, Yu Liuliang Money Hall are scheduled for you to explore this ancient water town. Then enjoy the interesting Shadow Play, a popular folk art in China. In the afternoon, arrive in Hangzhou.

  • Hangzhou (B/L)
  • The Hangzhou day tour features West Lake, which is the most famous man-made lake in China with the most beautiful natural scenery and strongest cultural atmosphere. Then proceed to visit Lingyin Temple, one of the best-known Buddhist monasteries in China built in 326 A.D. at the foot of Lingyin Mountain in Hangzhou. After the tour, pay a visit to Silk Museum. Hangzhou and Suzhou used to be the main silk produce area of China.

  • Hangzhou/ Guilin (B/A la carte lunch)
  • Take morning flight to Guilin. Meet our guide upon arrival. After enjoying a la carte lunch in a featured local restaurant, the afternoon visit features Elephant Trunk Hill and Reed Flute Cave. Being the landmark of Guilin, the Elephant Trunk Hill features an elephant drinking water from the beautiful Li River. Reed Flute Cave is a natural limestone cave with multicolored lighting and has been one of Guilin’s most interesting attractions for over 1200 years.

  • Guilin- Yangshuo- Guilin (B/L)
  • After breakfast at hotel, enjoy a Li River Cruise through the mist-shrouded limestone mountains, passing picturesque farms and fishing villages. Arrive in Yangshuo in the afternoon; enjoy countryside cycling with a Family Visit on the half way. (Biking alongside the paddy field and orchards that surround the famous mountains will give a fascinating insight into life in rural China and it is an opportunity to see a real country life and talk to the local farmers). In the late evening, drive back to Guilin.

  • Guilin/ Beijing (B/L)
  • In the morning, fly to Beijing, the capital of China. Afternoon visit features Summer Palace, The Park is a harmonious combination of Chinese ancient structures, traditional garden designing and man-made scenery.

  • Today, you will visit Ming Tombs, which was the burial site for 13 Ming dynasty emperors. The burial site was chosen with Fengshui taken into consideration. After lunch, proceed to today's highlight, the Mutianyu Great Wall (with round trip cable car), which is a symbol of ancient Chinese civilization. Being one of the must-sees during a China tour, the Great Wall offers you a superb background to take pictures. Climbing the Great Wall will also be a special memory of your China tour, since Chairman Mao Zedong once said that he who hasn't climbed the Great Wall is not a true man.

  • Beijing (B/ A la carte lunch/ Roast duck dinner)
  • The morning visit starts the Tian An Men Square, which is the largest public square in the world. From here you can see the grand Monument of People's Heroes, Mao Zedong Mausoleum and the modern National Grand Theater. Then you will proceed to visit the Forbidden City, which was the imperial palace of Ming and Qing dynasties. Also here you will see the art works in ancient China, which are all under national level protection. After a la carte lunch at local restaurant, the afternoon visit features the Temple of Heaven, where emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties used to pray for good harvest to heaven. Today, you will have the chance to taste the authentic local specialty, the Peking Roast Duck Dinner. Then appreciate the Chinese Kungfu Show (alternatively you could choose Peking Opera).

This tour begins with Shanghai where you will tour major attractions including the classical Yu Garden, the Bund, and former “Wall Street” of the foreign powers. After a day at leisure exploring this bustling port city, you'll fly back.

  • Shanghai Maglev Train (SMT) is the world's first and only commercialized maglev train line in operation and has been operated since the end of 2002. If you are interested to take a Maglev train and experience the speed of China, here, we highly recommend this optional tour for you. Not exactly an "attraction" but it gives you a special experience in Shanghai. It takes only in 8 minutes for a 30-kilometer-long trip, between Longyang Road Station and Pudong International Airport (PVG), with a maximum speed of 430 kilometers per hour. It runs from Pudong International Airport to Longyang Road.

Getting Ready to Go

Visa: Visas are required for China

Passengers must check with the local Chinese embassy or consultation to determine what personal identification and profile is required to apply a China Visa. Passengers who enter, leave and then re-enter the same country on their itinerary should check if they require a double-entry visa.

Insurance: Actually China Dragon Tour purchases the Travel Service Liability Insurance for every passenger when you book tours via this website (except those who only book hotel or air flight). However, to buy a relatively higher quality life insurance by passengers’ is highly suggested.

 

Preparation

A considerate pre-planning can make your trip go smoother. Several weeks before your trip, make a list of what you will need to take with you and then prepare one by one. Make sure your personal documents (passports, visas) are in order and that you have enough prescription medications to last through the trip. China Dragon Tour suggests that you make copies of passports, visas, and any other important travel documents and pack them separately from the originals. Pack a list of medications including dosage and generic names. If you lose the originals while traveling, you'll have copies for easier reporting and replacement.

 

How to make a telephone call in China

Before you depart, please make sure your cell phone can dial international calls. When dialing a number from China to your country, you should proceed as follows: dial your country's Exit Code + destination Country Code + Phone Number. For most countries, the exit code is 00. Exceptions include the USA and Canada (011), Hong Kong and Cambodia (001), Australia (0011), and Russia (8 Pause 10*). For Brazil, please consult with the local telephone company. If the international number you wish to call starts with a 0 (zero), you must drop this starting digit when dialing the number.

In hotels you are able to dial a call back to your country and it is usually much cheaper than your cell phone.

Climate and Clothing

China is a huge country with varied climates. In general, the north is cold and dry in winter. In the south, summer is hot and humid, with a rainy season from July through September.

Bring comfortable walking shoes, a sweater, clothes you can layer and an all-weather jacket. Some religious sites may require modest dress to enter (no shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless tops).

I want to take this tour, but I am interested in staying overnight at Wuzhen Water Town for about 2 nights, as I am a photographer, I want to take pictures there for your work.
