Nanjing Road
Nanjing Road is the earliest significant shopping street in Shanghai. As early as the beginning of the 19th century, a wide variety of merchants gradually established hundreds of stores on both sides of the road because of the good fengshui there. Now it is one of the most important commercial and tourist streets in Shanghai, which stretches from the bund to West Yan’an Road. It is a good place to learn the history and culture of Shanghai. Nanjing Road is located in the city center, its eastern section is in Huangpu District and extends from The Bund west to People's Square. The western section begins at People's Square and continues westward towards Jing'an District.
