  • Arrive in Beijing
  • Upon your arrival at Beijing Capital International Airport, our tour guide will meet you outside the Baggage Claim Area, holding a greeting sigh showing your name. Then you are going to be transfered to the hotel to check in.

  • Beijing (B/L/Roast duck dinner)
  • After breakfast at hotel, tour guide will meet you at the hotel lobby and start your China tour. The morning visit starts the Tian An Men Square, which is the largest public square in the world. From here you can see the grand Monument of People's Heroes, Mao Zedong Mausoleum and the modern National Grand Theater. Then you will proceed to visit the Forbidden City, which was the imperial palace of Ming and Qing dynasties. Also here you will see the art works in ancient China, which are all under national level protection. After lunch at local restaurant, the afternoon visit features the Summer Palace. The park is a harmonious combination of Chinese ancient structures, traditional garden designing and man-made scenery. Today, you will have the chance to taste the authentic local specialty, the Peking Roast Duck Dinner. Then appreciate the Chinese Kungfu Show (alternatively you could choose Peking Opera).

  • Today, you will visit Ming Tombs, which was the burial site for 13 Ming dynasty emperors. The burial site was chosen with Fengshui taken into consideration. After lunch, proceed to today's highlight, the Mutianyu Great Wall (with round trip cable car), which is a symbol of ancient Chinese civilization. Being one of the must-sees during a China tour, the Great Wall offers you a superb background to take pictures. Climbing the Great Wall will also be a special memory of your China tour, since Chairman Mao Zedong once said that he who hasn't climbed the Great Wall is not a true man.

  • Beijing (B/A la carte lunch)
  • The morning visit features the Temple of Heaven, where emperors in Ming and Qing dynasty prayed for good harvest to heaven. It is believed the residence of Heaven God, so originally it occupied even bigger area than Forbidden City, the residence for emperor. For lunch, you will enjoy the a la carte lunch at a famous local restaurant to taste the authentic Chinese food. In the afternoon, proceed to enjoy a rickshaw tour in Hutong, the residence for local Beijing people. Then proceed to visit Beijing Zoo, including Panda House.

  • Transfer to airport and take flight to Lhasa. Meet our Lhasa local guide upon arrival and then be transferred to hotel. You are suggested that you have a good rest at the hotel to acclimatize yourself to the high altitude of Lhasa.

  • The Lhasa tour starts from a visit to the Potala Palace, a holy place for Tibetan Buddhism. This ancient architectural complex is considered a model of Tibetan architecture. Then proceed to visit Jokhang Temple, which is the most important and lively temple in Tibet. Its location was determined through astrological calculation by princess Wencheng in Tang Dynasty. In the afternoon, have a free stroll at Barkhor Street. It is a quadrangle street surrounding Jokhang Temple and is both the spiritual and commercial centers of Lhasa.

  • In the morning, pay a visit to Norbulingka, which once served as the summer palace for Dalai Lama in ancient times. Then continue to visit Tibet Museum. It is now the best place to get more and deep understanding of the history and culture of Tibet. The afternoon visit features the Sera Monastery, a major Buddhism training institute established in 1419. Monks here debate Buddhist Doctrines.

  • Lhasa / Xian (B/L)
  • The half day Lhasa visit starts from Lhasa Nunnery, which is the only nunnery in the old district of Lhasa with unique traditions and customs. Then have a Tibetan Family Visit and get more idea of the local residents' lifestyle. After lunch, fly to Xi'an and Xi'an guide will meet you at the airport.

  • Xian (B/ A la carte lunch/ Tang dynasty dinner show)
  • Today’s highlight is an excursion to the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses. They were made over 2,000 years ago with different facial expression and height. 7,000 warriors and horses composed an underground army to protect the Qin emperor after his death. Each one makes an artwork up to the national protection standard. Then enjoy the a la carte lunch at a delicate restaurant, which boasts tasty food and graceful environment. Proceed to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built in Tang dynasty to store the Buddhist scriptures brought back from ancient India by Monk Xuanzang. Then back hotel to have a short refreshment to be well prepared for the Tang Dynasty Imperial Dumpling Banquet with Show.

  • Xian / Guilin (B/ A la carte lunch)
  • The morning visit features the Ancient City Wall, which is the biggest and best preserved defending system in China. Then proceed to visit Great Mosque and then have a free stroll at Muslim Quarter. Located in the heart area of the city, the Xi’an Muslim Quarter is famous for its flourishing free market and ethnic flavor. After a la carte lunch at a graceful restaurant, transfer to airport and fly to Guilin. Meet our guide upon arrival and then transfer to hotel.

  • Guilin- Yangshuo- Guilin (B/L)
  • After breakfast, board the cruiser and enjoy a Li River Cruise through the mist-shrouded limestone mountains, passing picturesque farms and fishing villages. Arrive in Yangshuo after lunch on the cruiser. Enjoy Countryside Cycling with a Family Visit on the half way. Biking alongside the paddy field and orchards that surround the famous mountains will give a fascinating insight into life in rural China and it is an opportunity to see a real country life and talk to the local farmers. Before transfer back to Guilin, you can either enjoy your free time in a coffee bar or do some shopping in the West Street.

  • The morning visit features the Reed Flute Cave and Elephant Trunk Hill. Visitors are always dazzled by the spectacular stalactites, stalagmites and the mirror lakes. Elephant Trunk Hill is the landmark of Guilin. Taking a picture at the hill is a must of Guilin tour. After enjoying your a la carte lunch at a featured local restaurant, transfer to airport and fly to Shanghai, China's financial and commercial center. Guide meets you at airport and then drive to hotel.

  • This Shanghai one day tour will bring you both the local culture and picturesque scenery. The morning tour starts at Shanghai Museum, which is located at Renmin Square, the center of Shanghai. The 120,000 art collections show you the traditional culture. Then proceed to visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, where you will see the future of Shanghai. You will enjoy the a la carte lunch at a fancy and famous local restaurant. Visa: Visas are required for China

Passengers must check with the local Chinese embassy or consultation to determine what personal identification and profile is required to apply a China Visa. Passengers who enter, leave and then re-enter the same country on their itinerary should check if they require a double-entry visa.

Insurance: Actually China Dragon Tour purchases the Travel Service Liability Insurance for every passenger when you book tours via this website (except those who only book hotel or air flight). However, to buy a relatively higher quality life insurance by passengers’ is highly suggested.

 

Preparation

A considerate pre-planning can make your trip go smoother. Several weeks before your trip, make a list of what you will need to take with you and then prepare one by one. Make sure your personal documents (passports, visas) are in order and that you have enough prescription medications to last through the trip. China Dragon Tour suggests that you make copies of passports, visas, and any other important travel documents and pack them separately from the originals. Climate and Clothing

China is a huge country with varied climates. In general, the north is cold and dry in winter. In the south, summer is hot and humid, with a rainy season from July through September.

Bring comfortable walking shoes, a sweater, clothes you can layer and an all-weather jacket. Some religious sites may require modest dress to enter (no shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless tops).

Dear Hanny, thanks for the question. Factually, September is not hot and it is the autumn season, the weather is fine and cool in Beijing and Shanghai, so take suitable clothes with you during the tour.
