  • Arrive in Luoyang (L)
  • Upon your arrival in Luoyang (the eastern capital of ancient China) our guide will pick you up at railway station and start the pleasant day tour. Visit: Longmen Grottoes (being one of the four most famous Buddhist grottoes in China, Longmen Grottoes show high value in art, carting, religion and so on) White Horse Temple (the earliest Buddhist temple in Chinese history).

  • Luoyang/ Shaolin Monastery/ Luoyang Departure (B/L)
  • After breakfast, take a 1.5 hour drive to visit Shaolin Monastery (famous for its Chinese Kong Fu, the temple was first built in North Wei Dynasty in 496 A.D. as a temple of Zen branch of Chinese Buddhism), Forest of Pagoda (which is a burial site for the famous monks in the history of the temple), enjoy the Kung Fu Show. Transfer to railways station and see off.

Getting Ready to Go

Visa: Visas are required for China

Passengers must check with the local Chinese embassy or consultation to determine what personal identification and profile is required to apply a China Visa. Passengers who enter, leave and then re-enter the same country on their itinerary should check if they require a double-entry visa.

Insurance: Actually China Dragon Tour purchases the Travel Service Liability Insurance for every passenger when you book tours via this website (except those who only book hotel or air flight). However, to buy a relatively higher quality life insurance by passengers’ is highly suggested.

 

Preparation

A considerate pre-planning can make your trip go smoother. Several weeks before your trip, make a list of what you will need to take with you and then prepare one by one. Make sure your personal documents (passports, visas) are in order and that you have enough prescription medications to last through the trip. China Dragon Tour suggests that you make copies of passports, visas, and any other important travel documents and pack them separately from the originals. Pack a list of medications including dosage and generic names. If you lose the originals while traveling, you'll have copies for easier reporting and replacement.

 

How to make a telephone call in China

Before you depart, please make sure your cell phone can dial international calls. When dialing a number from China to your country, you should proceed as follows: dial your country's Exit Code + destination Country Code + Phone Number. For most countries, the exit code is 00. Exceptions include the USA and Canada (011), Hong Kong and Cambodia (001), Australia (0011), and Russia (8 Pause 10*). For Brazil, please consult with the local telephone company. If the international number you wish to call starts with a 0 (zero), you must drop this starting digit when dialing the number.

In hotels you are able to dial a call back to your country and it is usually much cheaper than your cell phone.

Climate and Clothing

China is a huge country with varied climates. In general, the north is cold and dry in winter. In the south, summer is hot and humid, with a rainy season from July through September.

Bring comfortable walking shoes, a sweater, clothes you can layer and an all-weather jacket. Some religious sites may require modest dress to enter (no shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless tops).
